The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA), previously known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is the process whereby adults and older children enter the Catholic Church. OCIA classes are held weekly and over the course of several months. Those who attend the OCIA classes are educated on what the Catholic Church believes and are given the opportunity to ask question about those beliefs. While the complete OCIA is intended for entering the church, the classes are open to all who would like to learn more. Whether that be someone who has been away from the Church for awhile or anyone who would simply like to renew or deepen their understanding.
